During the country's dry season is an ideal time to visit. This will allow you to partake on all activities uninterrupted by rains. If you prefer a less crowded time you can always pack an umbrella.

The islands in Belize are called Cayes and there are around 450 of them. You can use one as a jump off point or travel down the coast to visit different Cayes. You might even be lucky enough to have one all to yourself.

Belize has around 900 Mayan sites to visit. In fact, the tallest building in Belize just happens to be a Mayan temple. It is also home to the longest unbroken barrier reef in the Western Hemisphere with 185 miles of coastline. Belize is a world-class scuba diving and snorkel destination.

HEAD TO THE JUNGLE

DITCH THE BEACH AND HEAD TO THE JUNGLE TO FIND WILDLIFE AND CAVES

The deeper in you go, the better the chance you have getting face to face with an ocelot or jaguar. Better yet, get up close and personal with a visit to the only jaguar reserve in the world. If you don't mind getting wet, there are a number of cave systems that you can float underground rivers through that were used by the ancient Maya for performing sacrificial rituals to honor their Gods.
